Floating video widget

A floating video widget is a small shoppable video player that sits in a corner of a website while the shopper browses other pages. It plays a short product clip in a picture-in-picture style frame, with tappable hotspots that show price and an add-to-cart action without taking the shopper off the page they are on.

DefinitionsFloating video widget

A floating video widget is a small shoppable video player that sits in a corner of a website while the shopper browses other pages. It plays a short product clip in a picture-in-picture style frame, with tappable hotspots that show price and an add-to-cart action without taking the shopper off the page they are on.

The floating widget behaves like a video bubble. It pins to the bottom-right or bottom-left of the page, stays visible as the shopper scrolls, and can be minimised or expanded with a tap. The clip keeps playing while the shopper reads the product description, the reviews or the size chart.

Inside the bubble, tags on the video link to real products in the store catalogue. Tapping a tag opens a quick view with the price, variants and an add-to-cart button. The shopper never leaves the current page, so the path from watching to buying is one screen, not three.

Brands use this format for ambient discovery. A skincare brand can let a founder explain a routine on every page of the site, a fashion label can keep a runway clip running while shoppers look through the lookbook. It is lighter than a full carousel and less intrusive than a pop-up.

On beyondRegular

On a beyondRegular install, the floating bubble is one of the formats you can switch on from the dashboard alongside carousel and reel. For an Indian D2C store, this is useful on the home page and on category pages where the shopper is still browsing. Prices inside the bubble pull from your Shopify or website catalogue, so INR shows automatically, and add-to-cart hands the shopper to your normal checkout on Razorpay, Shopify Payments, Cashfree or whatever gateway you already use. COD eligibility and shipping rules continue to apply because the cart is your own.

Common questions

Will the floating widget annoy shoppers or slow the site down?

It is designed to stay out of the way. The shopper can minimise the bubble with one tap, and on mobile it sits in a corner rather than covering the product image or the buy button. The video loads lazily, so the page itself renders first and the clip starts only when the shopper is ready to watch. If you prefer, you can show the bubble only on specific pages such as the home page or a campaign landing page.

Can I use the floating widget alongside a carousel on the same page?

Yes. Many brands put a carousel on the home page for browsing and keep the floating bubble running on product and collection pages so a founder explainer or a how-to-style clip stays available everywhere. In beyondRegular you control which format appears on which page from the dashboard, so the two formats do not fight for attention. The same video library and the same product tags are shared across formats.
