Product listing page (PLP)

A product listing page, or PLP, is the page on an online store that shows a group of products together. Shoppers reach it from a category menu, a collection link, or a search. Each product appears as a card with image, title, and price, and the shopper taps a card to open the full product page.

A product listing page, or PLP, is the page on an online store that shows a group of products together. Shoppers reach it from a category menu, a collection link, or a search. Each product appears as a card with image, title, and price, and the shopper taps a card to open the full product page.

A PLP is where a shopper lands after tapping a category, a collection, or a search result. It shows multiple products in a grid, each as a small card with image, title, price, and sometimes a rating, swatch, or quick add button. The job of the page is to help the shopper scan options fast and click into one.

On Shopify this is the collection template. On other platforms it might be called the category page or the search results page. Filters and sort live here, so a buyer can narrow by size, colour, price band, or whatever attributes the store has set up. The PLP sits between the homepage or menu and the product detail page (PDP).

PLPs carry a lot of traffic. People come in from Google search, Instagram ads, WhatsApp links, and the site menu. If the cards load slowly, if the images are not consistent, or if the wrong items show up, the shopper bounces before reaching a PDP.

On beyondRegular

For a D2C brand on Shopify, the PLP is often the second most visited page after the homepage, especially when running Instagram or Google ads that deep link to a collection. beyondRegular sits naturally here. You can add a horizontal carousel above the product grid showing clips of the items in that collection, or a floating bubble that follows the shopper as they scroll. Prices in the clip come from the same Shopify catalogue, so Indian buyers see INR, and checkout still runs through Razorpay, Shopify Payments, or whichever gateway the store already uses.

Common questions

What is the difference between a PLP and a PDP?

The PLP shows many products as cards in a grid, used for browsing and filtering. The PDP, the product detail page, shows one product in full with all images, the description, variants like size and colour, reviews, and the add to cart button. A shopper usually sees a PLP first, picks a card, and lands on the PDP to actually buy.

Can I add shoppable video to a Shopify PLP?

Yes. With beyondRegular you can place a carousel or a floating bubble widget on the collection template, the same way you would on the homepage. Tags inside each clip link to the product pages in that collection, so a shopper can watch a few seconds, see the price pulled from your catalogue, and add to cart without scrolling through the full grid.
